Cladding of a wooden stone staircase

Cladding of an old degraded wooden staircase but classified as a Historic Monument, with Huard limestone

Architect request:

For a luxury store on rue Cambon in Paris, the existing wooden staircase was very degraded but, classified, it could not be changed. The architect and the client chose to dress it in light stone. The solution had to catch up with the flatness of the wooden steps.

Solution :

After reading on site, each step was carried out in the workshop with the TAMBURATO process to lighten the stone to 20 Kg / m². The tailor-made whistle machining of the rear panel made it possible to regain the flatness of the steps.
